DETAILS :
The LUMIN UFO 36 LED light unit combines a lightweight, robust and watertight machined aluminium casing with our in-house designed LUMIN ultra bright and highly energy efficient LED light engine. The LUMIN UFO 36 unit differs from the Spectra version as it offers only a white light output instead of the colour changing module but, as a result, is more compact with increased brightness.
The 'cool' white LED cluster produces a sharp pure white output making them ideal for task or reading lighting where good colour rendition is needed, whereas the 'warm' white version produces a softer, warmer output similar to that from a normal lightbulb, for general feature lighting.
Equally at home indoors as well as out, with it's range of accessories the unit can be used as an inset light, pendant lamp, wall mounted up or down lighter or positionable spotlight.
The L-UFO 36 is designed to last... our unique, thermally engineered design means that heat is dissipated away from the LED ensuring their long lifetime is maintained while also using the maximum light available from the light source. The aluminium we use contains a 30% minimum recycled content , is sourced in the UK and is easily recyclable. All parts are anodised to 25 microns in either a natural or black finish so will last for yonks! This and our extremely energy efficient LED light engine offers a viable and eco-friendly long term lighting solution.
CONTROL & CONNECTION
The LUMIN UFO 36 unit can be connected directly to the switched mains supply via a small transformer however if dimming control is required the LUMIN controller should be used. Units can be connected together (see the Lumin controller page for more information) with dimming and power functions controlled from the panel or IR remote unit.
The LUMIN CONTROL unit incorporates a central touch switch. To turn on the light units simply touch the switch. The LED cluster will fade up to full brightness. Touching this switch will then dim and brighten the light units until the desired brightness is found, the touch released and brightness is set. A short touch to the plate will fade the connected units to off. The panel is available in a black or silver anodised finish and can be wall inset mounted or combined with a free standing base pod.
LEDs are a much more effective and energy efficient source of light than an incandescent bulb for the following reasons :
ENERGY EFFICIENCY :
The LED is at least 4 times more energy efficient than an incandescent light which converts 90% of the electrical energy into heat rather than light.
LONGER BATTERY LIFE :
Greater energy efficiency converts directly to longer battery life making them the ideal choice for use with sustainable technology installations for maximum light hours.
DURABILITY :
The LED is extremely shock resistant, unlike the fragile filament of an incandescent bulb. Again important for portable lighting but will also mean a long lasting product that can withstand the rigors of time and use.
LONG LIFETIME :
The LED typically provides 100,000 hours of continuous use — over 11 years of continous use! But let's put that into real every day use, as we don't want you wasting energy now... If we average 4 hours a day that's over 68 years of use before you'll need to change the bulb!
ECO-FRIENDLY :
LEDs contain no mercury unlike other energy saving lightbulbs.
